The interest being shown by English football clubs on foreign players is astounding. Any good player that has been spotted kicking a football is, according to English football pundits and journalists, and clubs, supposed to play in England. Anybody with half a brain can see that means less chances for young English players. And all these parties ponder daily, and even ask, why England are so poor when it comes to the performance of the England team.

I Witnessed...(cntd)
The leading candidates hit the campaign trail,
They criss-crossed the land , by air, by road, on foot,
They ate and slept on their feet; they couldn't waste time,
Their caddies plotted arguments and tallied scores.
I watched the campaign as it developed,
The candidates putting their cases forward.
Separately, they delivered their promises,
They each painted a thousand Utopias;
In many instances people nodded with knowing smiles...!
There was no vitriolic taunting or vicious insults,
There were no demeaning songs or vulgar gestures,
No one was labelled a traitor for having a different view,
No one was beaten up for belonging to a less popular party.
I could not believe it, there were no slogans!
The supporters were not working themselves into a frenzy!
There was no aimless running about or beating of chests,
The ques at polling stations were quiet and peaceful,
The voting was completed with no incident.
No party supporters were arrested or disappeared,
The ballots were counted and the winner declared,
The other candidates duly congratulated the winner!
Then they all went to an after-poll tea, all smiles,
I could not believe that I was not dreaming.
Of course the arguments were heated and animated,
There was anger and shouting and accusation,
But still they shook hands, smiled at each other at the end,
None of them feared for their lives if they lost.
Indeed not one person was murdered during the elections!

moat sick!
Yesterday the papers carried pictures of people flocking to the site of Raoul Moat's shooting, carrying flowers and ostensibly turning the place into a shrine. Some built another shrine at his house. Some messages described him as a hero! Some declared their understanding of his actions. It is no wonder that one finds such people in this country because there are so many people who are disgusting layabouts whose minds are fertile ground for the devil, for, what these people are saying is that they are satisfied that Moat shot Mr Brown in cold blood, that he shot his former girlfriend, that he deliberately shot an innocent hard working policeman who is some loving mother's son, some loving but terrified wife's husband and father to innocent desperate children, they are happy that he terrorised( for that's what he did) a whole region, taking up police time and threatening the public. Did they not see the picture of the little girl he tortured by ordering her to stand in the road wearing a most demeaning hat?I find the behaviour and attitude of all those involved disgusting and appalling and sick, to say the least. Those pepole had no messages of sympathy for the real victims of Moat's actions.
Did they not see the pictures of those very real victims?

I Witnessed an Election...............
The recently concluded elections in the UK were an eye opener and frankly quite interesting.Of course are serious fights, with no quarter given. But some fights are more dignified than others and the aforesaid elections provide lessons on how to foght but maintain intergrity.Presented in narrative vers, here is my take on those elections, trickled to you over several weeks:
The news of the pending elections spread quickly,
The election fever gripped all and sundry,
Election pros and cons became the street talk,
Billboards screamed the news all across the land.
There was no let up on TV, radio, newspapers,
Party leaders and enthusiasts begged for votes over the airwaves,
Leaflets waved at pasersby from trees and lamp posts,
Prospective candidates dazzled frozen smiles from bus stop sheds........

Kumnandi(it's nice) to share
I find that there are a lot of issues that are of interest to many of us but we lack ocassion and opportunity to discuss and share them.In my blog I am going to touch on a variety of issues and topics, desiring to comment, appraise, raise awareness, stir interest, educate, hopefully inspire and generally invite participation by those who so desire.Presentation will be in prose or verse and may not always be in English.
